(Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin)

We found gobs of Frank Lloyd Wright
studded throughout Mason City, Iowa.

We searched out a Frank Lloyd Wright in
Quasqueton, Iowa.  This is the boathouse.
(What a view, huh?)

Onward to Minneapolis!

Time for an old-fashioned diner breakfast.
(Mickey's is on the Register of
Historic Places -- but our cholesterol
intake went right OFF the register.)

And a cherry on top!

Delightful gaudy statues of Snoopy dot St. Paul.
(It seems Charles Schulz was a native son.)

In the Museum of Questionable Medical Devices,
Robin undergoes a Phrenology exam...

...so VJ had to analyze her personality too.
(It was surprisingly accurate!!)

Time for an idyllic canoe trip on one of
Minnesota's ten thousand lakes.

Then a nostalgic ride on an old-fashioned streetcar.

Frank turned up in the Minnesota Art Institute
(along with Monet and the gang).

We explored historic Stone Arch Bridge on the mighty Mississippi (the Minneapolis skyline is behind us).

Then delved briefly into Wisconsin to chase
Frank Lloyd Wright. (Why did he build so many churches to look like UFOs??)

Okay, so this church doesn't look like a UFO,
but what about that alien in front?

Enough Frank -- time to explore the
diminutive Joan of Arc Chapel.

Speaking of diminutive -- did you know this is
precisely how tall Joan was??!?

We stumbled onto Wingspread, an
incredibly photogenic Frank house...

...and arm wrestled on Frank's famous
"disappearing table" over where to eat lunch.
(Can you detect the slot where
the table slides out of sight?)

This is the world-famous Johnson's Wax Administration building by Frank. It was awesome!

The Midwest is a beautiful, tranquil place to visit.
(If only it didn't snow here!!!)
