A Coach Sharing Call

Okay, I really want your feedback on this one.

After reading Dario's book and listening extensively to Dr. Beebe, I think I'm getting a better sense of introverted Feeling myself.  Yay!

And something I've been noticing is how we give these things the wrong names.  It's almost ludicrous.  A lot of what is called iNtuitive information is actually information coming from the Feeling archetype.  As Dr. Beebe says, Ni sees the archetype, but Fi feels the archetype.

So here's the deal.  I began listening to a coach sharing call supposedly on the topic of iNtuitive information, and so help me if I didn't believe I was listening to her describe introverted Feeling.  Sure, extraverted iNtuiting showed up to interpret the incoming data and take it somewhere, but it's amazing how closely Katherine is listening and calibrating herself to the client's energetic information.  It's incredible how she leans into the client and really experiences them archetypally with Feeling.  And she keeps talking about how hard it is to articulate what it is she's doing.

What I would appreciate is for you INFPs to listen to this call and tell me if she's describing introverted Feeling.  Do you resonate with what she's saying?  Is it something you do (if you haven't conditioned yourself not to, that is)?  I don't believe it's iNtuition at all;  I think it's been mis-labeled.

I would be grateful for your feedback.  My hunch is strong that Katherine has preferences for INFP and has trained herself to use her healing INFP gifts of listening to do therapeutic work.  I can pretty much guarantee that she is not using Ni (although the Conscious Dreaming she does is probably making that available).  I notice in the call how they keep repeating "It's not cognitive..." -- and I disagree!  It's highly cognitive -- it's just not a cognition we readily articulate!  (If we could articulate it, we'd be in the realm of Thinking!)

I have some caveats.  The call lasts nearly an hour.  The first ten minutes or so of the call are awful to sit through.  Somebody dialed in on a cell phone and, even though he sounds like a nice guy, he derailed the call and made it very difficult to listen.  (It's almost tragic, given how important listening is to introverted Feeling.)  He vanished after about ten minutes, so hang on until you get past that noisy part.  I also must stress that the "frame" for the call is around Life Coaching, and everyone on the call is probably a coach practitioner.  CTI is the Coach Training Institute, my coaching alma mater.  At no time do they talk about the MBTI, personality type, or Jung.  What I'm highlighting is how introverted Feeling manifests heroically without even being known for what it is.

Here's a final caveat:  if you have INFP preferences, you might actually benefit from learning some tips about how to use Fi safe and sanely!  I'd especially love to hear if that benefit shows up for you.  (Use the blog button below to leave a note -- and no, you don't have to join the service in order to comment.)

This call is available in two ways:
